Decision

Photo by: Tim Bindner Photography I have written about this and documented it in length in my blog posts.  I struggle with making decisions.  Always been an anxiety-filled issue for me. Today I helped ease the pain and process of making decisions.  I bought a Magic 8 Ball and this simple tool will help me navigate through life with less anxiety and pain going forward. Until next time, Tim

A special hike with a special person

Photo by: Tim Bindner Photography My hike this morning was at a familiar place, but this time I have a different companion.  I experienced nature with my wife and it was a great time. I had asked my wife on Friday if she wanted to join me Saturday morning for a hike at Mount Saint Francis.  I knew the weather would be appealing to her (72 degrees when we began), and I even invited a friend to join us so Marcie would have another female to hang out with.  The friend backed out (I knew she would) but it made it more enjoyable for me and Marcie. I had my backpack with my water, I carried hers as well and my camera.  We parked, noticing only one other car in the parking lot and we headed down the gravel path towards the woods.  Marcie had never been to this part of the park so I was excited to show her and see how her experience would be. Much of the first 2 miles (we went 3.61 total) we were completely alone, except for a darting squirrel or songbirds and woodpeckers high above us making ...

Rocky Ridge/Breeden Ridge Trail

Photo by: Tim Bindner Photography Today I met my buddy Mark at O’ Bannon Woods State Park for a hike.  In this Coronavirus terrifying world, I needed to get out. My week had not been going so well.  I got some surprises at work that changed how future projects will go for me and I was bombarded by daily messages of doom about the Corona Virus.  I was looking forward to the weekend because I had two hikes planned.  This is the only one that happened. After a two day headache (Friday and Saturday) I was able to get out and hike.  I met Mark at the campground in O’ Bannon Woods and we set off on the Rocky Ridge Trail.  This is the trail we had planned on hiking a few weekends ago but it ended quickly when the forecasted 30% of rain became 100% sleet. The trail this time was still muddy but as I could tell by the campground area we would be alone.  As my boots slushed through the mud I watched from behind as Mark often caught a tree root or rock with the toe of his boot, sending...

Return home

The world is changing and people are freaking out.  We are being reminded or told in some instances, how to do basic things that we all should know.  The scariest part (or funny to me) is that people now will have to entertain themselves for a few weeks. I just returned from my trip to the mountains and nightly in the hotel as well with my Google feed I received word about the coronavirus and the impacts it has on the world.  It began with the cancellation of NCAA men’s and women’s basketball (no impact on me), then the NBA, MLB, MLS, NHL, and many other sports were postponed. The Sirius radio I listened to on the way home mentioned the virus on every break.  We were told to wash our hands, social distance, and eventually, when I got home there was the closing of restaurants, stores like Walmart, Kroger, Meijers, and big events/concerts were postponed or canceled.  All in an effort to contain or lessen the spread of the disease. What bothers me is the fact we are being told ...

2020 Trip to the Mountains of North Carolina

Photo by: Tim Bindner Photography I feel like a young child on Christmas morning.  The anticipation is killing me, but I know the reward/present will be worth it. At the time of this posting I will be leaving with my buddy Mark and his nephew Kory on a road trip through Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, and Kentucky then back home to Indiana.  For Mark and me this is our second trip together, for Kory his first.  We are leaving on Tuesday mid-day and returning Saturday, but the sights I will see and stories I hope to share will be numerous. My previous adventure from 2019 can be read below by clicking on the links: Part 1                     Part 2                     Part 3                     Part 4 Last year’s trip, in my mind, was almost perfect.  The weather was great. I experienced rain, sun, fog, hail, light breezes, heavy wind gusts, and light snow.  Sometimes all of these in one day.  The temps range from 44 – 68 degrees and I had a wonderful tour guide, friend, and chauffe...
